Carnātic Rāgās Grāph

Welcome to Vishu's Carnatic Visualization!

This project let's you explore the Carnatic Melakarta Ragas and their derived Janya Ragas.

How to explore the graph?

1. Hover over notes on the chart to navigate a raga (From S to P to Ṡ).
• The Melakarta Raagam will be identified when you hover on the final Ṡ
2. Click on the Final Ṡ to explore the path's Melakarta Raagam
• This will give you the Melakarta Raagam and a list of Derived Janya Raagams
3. Click on any Raagam Name to play its Aarohanam and Avarohanam.
4. Use Keys 1-8 for mimicking a keyboard for the same Raga (1-S, 2-R, ... 8-Ṡ).

Other Features

• You can switch between Classical Chakra or Sequential Chakra.
• Hold on to Down or Up Arrow to Lower or Higher Octave respectively when playing the keys via keyboard
• Click on the Raagam Name to play the Aarohanam and Avarohanam.
• You can use Keys 1-8 for mimicking a keyboard for the same Raga.
